Dissolvable trials can tell you a lot, but only if the test includes the right mix of designs.

As operators continue reevaluating dissolvables, one thing continues to stand out: plug architecture matters just as much as the material itself. Not all dissolvable designs behave the same in the field.

That’s why including a top-set design in a multi-company trial is important. It gives operators a stronger baseline for comparing isolation performance, reliability, and overall tool behavior under the same well conditions.

Without that comparison point, it becomes harder to determine whether a failure is tied to the dissolvable material itself… or the design approach behind it.
